To Petra in Germany

From the back of the postcard:

Ka-we-teh-ke-shig (Chippewa)

Born in 1784and spent 138 yeas living in MINNESOTA'S CHIPPEWA NATIONAL FOREST. Died at the age of 138, and he is buried in the same forest in which he lived. This picture shows him at 127 years old, and at that time he was claimed to be the oldest living American.

To Yangfan in China

I have never seen a Showy Ladyslipper, the Minnesota state flower, in the wild. I found a catalog that sells them for planing though, so I might plant a couple in my backyard. Then I can see them each spring.

From Thomas in Germany (Direct Swap)

If the city you live in has a building like this, then I think you can say you live in a real city. This is the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, Germany. Isn't it glorious? Thank you Thomas!

From Anya in Belarus

I love onion domes like the ones on this postcard from Anya. Pictured is Holy Trinity Church in Mir, Belarus. Very pretty! Thanks Anya!

To Thomas in Germany (Direct Swap)

Nisswa, MN is such a cute little town, even in the winter it has its charms.

To Erica in Taiwan

Erica says that she likes Mickey Mouse, so I am sending her this postcard I found this last weekend. As you can see it has Mickey and Minnie posed as if they were in the painting "American Gothic" by Grant Wood. I am not quite certain why it would be Minnesotan, Grant Wood painted in and is from Iowa, but I think she will like it.

From Miriam in Germany

What a clever card. I love that it shows the same church, Wurmlinger Kapelle, all four seasons. Very cool!

From Jaana in Finland

I love kittens!

From Ilip in the Netherlands

A lovely postcard, from Ilip, of Arnhem in the Netherlands. It looks like a lovely place for a stroll.

From Tiago in Brazil (Direct Swap)

It amazes me how long it takes a postcard to get to and from Brazil. For some reason I see it as being fairly close, but of course it is not. This postcard from Tiago took about 20 days to arrive. I had never heard of Círio de Nazaré before. This is why I love Postcrossing!.

From Noon in Thailand

This is a lovely postcard is of the historic city of Ayutthaya in Thailand. The white dot in the middle of the image is from wear and tear from travel.

From Satomi in Japan

This is an interior photo of Nishi Honganji temple. (The link goes to a temple in Koyoto, but I am not 100% sure it is the same temple.) It is so beautifully ornate!

To Jana in Germany

Yes, I am reusing this card again. It is such a pretty night shot of downtown Minneapolis. I included this quote from Vincent Van Gogh:

"I often think that the night is more alive and more richly colored than the day."

To Thomas in Germany (Direct Swap)

Thomas and I were discussing ice fishing the other day, so I thought I would send him this card. I included a quote from Dave Barry in my message: "Fishing is boring, unless you catch an actual fish, and then it is disgusting." That about sums up my thoughts on fishing too!

From Thomas in Germany (Direct Swap)

Hee-Hee! A bookstore! I adore bookstores. I don't think that I have ever seen a bookstore postcard before this. So cool! Thanks Thomas!

To the Richlow Family in Germany

They requested a "green" card, but I do not have a card that fits that definition at the moment. They also asked for other colors. This was the only card I had that seemed to scream one color. I hope that they like it.

From Nikki in Taiwan

Look another postcard of Sun-Moon Lake in Taiwan. The first one was from Hank. It is such a pretty lake.

To Dot in Finland

I have been dying to send this card. "Dot" says that she likes old films. I hope she likes this one! I found a great line from the movie that works well with Postcrossing:

Remember George, No man is a failure who has friends.
~Clarence (played by Henry Travers)

From Lou in China

What a lovely Chinese painting I received from Lou. I quite enjoy Chinese painting, Thank you Lou.

From Janet in Norway

A postcard from Janet in Norway of a couple of Sami people. I don't know why, but the reindeer made me giggle when I first saw this card.

From Alexandr in Belarus

My goodness, it takes a long time for postcards to make it from Belarus to Minnesota. It took this postcard 47 days to arrive and it took just as long for the last postcard I received from there to arrive. However, it only took 16 days for a postcard that I sent to arrive there.

It is difficult to tell from the information on the postcard itself, but believe this postcard is of the presbytery of a church in Hajnówka, Poland. Very pretty.

To Henk and Marianne in The Netherlands

Henk and Marianne said that they liked snow and ice, I think this is a good match for them. It is an ice floe at the edge of a lake. I have never seen this, but I would like to.

From Margrit in Switzerland (Direct Swap)

I received these three postcards from Margrit in Switzerland for sending her a copy of the Pez-Santa card I sent to someone else. I have also included the first postage stamps that I have scanned in. I thought they were absolutely wonderful, so I had to share.

From Kerstin in Germany

Why do I never seem to live places with beautiful buildings like this?

From Daniel in Uruguay

Hmmm....I really love ruins. I think I should have been an archeologist. These ruins are of the Saint Franscisco Javier Convent in Uruguay. I would love to be able to look around there in person.

To Angel in China

I love this postcard. It is of Hidden Falls in Woods State  Park near Nerstrand, MN. I think I need to take a trip there this summer.

To Martin in Poland

I am very excited to send this postcard to Martin in Poland. He likes ships and sea ports. I think this fits the bill. The Duluth, MN/Superior, WI port is the largest inland port in the world. I love it when I can send a card that I am fairly certain that the recipient will like!

From Olya in Belarus

The Chruch of Mary Madalene in Minsk. Isn't it pretty?

From Thomas in Germany (Direct Swap)

Look at this beautiful building in  Dramstadt, Germany from Thomas. It was designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser. It reminds me of Gaudi's buildings in Barcelona, Spain.

To Thomas in Germany (Direct Swap)

I sent this postcard to Thomas today. It is of the Dala Horse in Mora, Minnesota. I chose this card because it reminds me of my childhood. This horse stands just opposite of my grade school and when I was very young my father was one of the people who painted it.

To Tatiana in Ukraine

I love this photo. It is so peaceful.
