From Elina in Finland

This was the third postcard that I received today and this one has a church on it! Double exciting! And it has snow covered trees, I think that makes it triple exciting! Thank you Elina!

From Stefanie in Germany

Stefanie writes on her card that at Christmas time stalls like this are set up in small towns for Christmas shopping. It looks like so much fun! Much more fun than an indoor craft fair. There is also mulled wine and bratwurst to be had. I must go someday! Thanks Stefanie!

From Martina in Germany

I sort of like these cards that give you a little snippet of everything in a region. I never realized that there were rock formations like that in Germany. I think it is very cool. Thank you Martina!

To Guillermo in Spain

My postcard to Hasbullah arrived in Malaysia. It only took 11 days, which seems fairly reasonable. The new address I was given was to Guillermo in Spain. He likes images that tell him about the area you live in. This image shows a beautiful winters' day in Minnesota. It is a treat when the sun is bright, the air is crisp and the sky is that perfect shade of cold deep blue. I hope that he sees the beauty in the card as much as I do.

To Sonja in the Netherlands (Direct Swap)

This is my first true direct swap. I saw Sonja on the com site and looked at her profile. It said that she was interested in direct swaps so I contacted her and we swapped addresses. She said that she would like a postcard that made me smile and this one does. The image is the painting "The White Cat" by Francis Jourdain from about 1900. It hangs at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. It makes me smile because it reminds me of Walter. I hope Sonja likes it!

From Argo in Italy

Argo sent me this really great image of St. Laurence Cathedral in Genoa, Italy. I can not tell you how much I love to see pictures of churches and the like and this one is great. It looks like a glorious place to visit. Thank you Argo!

From Anni in Finland

Look at the pretty winter day that Anni sent me! I love when the trees are all covered like that. Anni saw that I was attempting to learn Finnish and wrote her card in both Finnish and English. That was so cool of her! It really helps me to see how the words should go together. Mind you I only know about 130 words and phrases, but all help is welcome!!

To Thomas in Germany (Direct Swap)

I chose this image because it reminds me of where I grew up. We had a lot more trees around our farm, but there were plenty of fields of alfalfa with big hay bales in them. I love the smell of fresh hay.

To Luis Carlos and Leila in Brazil (Direct Swap)

This is the second time I have used this image and both times are for firsts. The very first postcard that I sent out, to Jessie in Belgium, was this card and now it is my first direct send of a card too. Luis Carlos and Leila said that they liked beach scenes, well this is what the beaches will soon look like here! I think it is quite beautiful, I just love it when the trees get all iced up like that.

From Leila in Brazil

Two postcards in one day! So fun! This one is from Brazil. The description says, "Partial View of Ibirapuera Park." It looks like a very pretty place to spend the afternoon walking. Thank you, Leila!

From Thomas in Germany (Direct Swap)

My second direct postcard is a beautiful photo of Frankfurt from Thomas in Germany.  I am not sure if it is a sunrise or a sunset, but it is quite pretty. Thank you Thomas!

From Minna in Finland

I received this postcard from Minna in Finland today. (This is a different Minna from the one I sent a postcard to a week or so ago.) I have listed on my Postcrossing account that I love pictures of churches, but I really love pictures of nuns/religious! So this is so perfect. These nuns are from the Lintula Convent. Here are a couple of links that show more of the Convent: (Link 1) (Link 2). Both sites are in Finnish, but there are some lovely pictures. Thank you Minna!

From Francine in Netherlands (Direct Swap)

I received this postcard from Francie in the Netherlands today. This is what Postcrossing calls a Direct Swap. Direct Swaps are not tracked by Postcrossing and are just between members. I love this postcard. I can almost feel the crisp night air.

To Iris in Lithuania

My postcard to Minna in Finland also arrived today! Two in one day, so fun! Now I am sending a postcard to Iris. Iris is quite young, so I tried to find a special postcard for her. I thought this one was cute!

To Ksenia in Russia

My post card to Laura in the United Kingdom arrived, so now I am sending a postcard to Ksenia in Russia. Ksenia said that one of the types of postcards that she enjoys are pictures of bridges. I think that this fits the bill. I hope that she enjoys this one!

List of Sent Postcards

Here is a list of the postcards that I have sent, but did not scan before sending:

Jessie in Belgium
Jutta in Finland (Who looks just like my friend Jane!)
Thomas in Germany
Tian ya in China
Francine in Netherlands
Katrina in Czech Republic
Julie and Justine in Ireland
Minna in Finland
Laura in United Kingdom
Patricia in Germany
Hasbullah in Malaysia

I hope they all enjoyed their postcards!

To Anne in the Netherlands

This is not the first postcard I have sent, but it is the first that I scanned before posting. I thought it was very pretty and represented a early winter or possibly early spring day in Minnesota well.

From Anne in Finland

This is the first postcard I have received. It is from Anne in Finland. I have always heard that Minnesota looks a lot like Finland, and you can see that in this postcard. (Though Minnesota wouldn't have those mountains in the background.) Thank you Anne!
